There is a laptop computer for each use case and budget. And while some customers search for the best laptop computer, whether it is gaming, best business or a 2-in-1 laptop computer, there is also brand loyalty which comes into play. That is why each year we place top marks on the hot seat and speed them across a number of categories, such as testimonials, design, technical support, value, and innovation.
After 2 years in the top spot, Lenovo was dethroned by our 2019 Best and Worst Brands winner, HP. In the course of our testing period, the company has earned 9 Editor’s Choice Award for industry-leading systems like the 13 inches HP Specter x360, HP Envy 13t along with the HP Chromebook x2. The company wasn’t reluctant to innovate, starting the leather-clad HP Specter Folio.
HP has vaulted to No. 1 in our Best and Worst Brands report, due to its strong reviews scores, leading designs, remarkable innovation, and top-notch value and choice.
As they say, luck favors the bold. Asus shot to second position this year, due to the innovations it brought to the table, such as the ScreenPad and ErgoLyft hinge. The design of Asus laptops carries on to impress as well as the company offers a vast selection of goods.
Dell remains as probably the most consistent and forward-thinking laptop computer brands there, maintaining its third place in our rankings for the 3rd year in a row. The Austin based Personal Computer maker has stayed close to the top of the package with its leading top-notch laptop lineup, and some of the slimmest and sexiest designs out there.
A newcomer to Best and Worst Brands, Alienware comes outlands and moving in the fourth position, only a point behind his father firm. Known for its out-of-this-planet gaming laptops, Alienware has brought a number of innovations to the desk, for example, its redesigned Alienware Command Center software.
Oh, how a mighty have fallen. Our first place brand from last year fell to the fifth position due to a couple of bad review scores and useless technology support. Even though was an off-year for Lenovo, the seller still landed in the top 50% of the rankings, thanks to some innovative new features and a wide range of laptops it’s on tap.
Razer’s on the way up. The mark jumped two spots, from the 8th tie for a sixth. However, Razer’s rise is not the consequence of one mitigating factor, it is the amount of a concerted effort to improve for its customers.
Following a strong 4th place showing in 2018, Acer fell a couple of spots this year. The company made some strong innovations heading into 2019 and carries on to offer among the best general selections around, with mainstream and gaming machines for each budget. Nevertheless, Acer’s laptops had mixed results in our testimonials this year, and we found some of the company’s latest designs to be lacking.
